You don't believe?

You don't believe God exists and/or you don't believe in Jesus Christ, or you're not sure. There's always the option of praying, asking Jesus to reveal Himself and His love to you. Asking God to make Himself real to you. You've got nothing to lose. For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16

TItus 3:4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that having been justified by His grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see tha kingdom of God unless he is born again." John 3:3

1 John 4:9,10 This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

Romans 10:9 if you acknowledge publicly with your mouth that Yeshua is Lord and trust in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be delivered.

There are a lot of lies and deceptions all over the place about what Christianity is, who Jesus and God are, etc. To know the truth one has to trust in the Lord, trust in His word. He will show the way.

So yea, Disney's Mighty Joe Young, is a REMAKE! That's why it would happen to be Disney's Mighty Joe Young. Of course, being a remake it is not true to the original (which isn't horribly surprising, though disgusting).
After Walt Disney died the Disney corporation sold it's soul to the world, the New Age movement and thensome. Periodically they manage to produce pretty good quality films (that admittedly I do enjoy, even have a couple favorites), but there are still things even in those that aren't great either. Walt had class, imagination, heart and much more. He did his movies accurate to the stories he took them from, or created good, wholesome movies. Perhaps in this day and age of over the top, instant gratification and sex!sex!sex! the principles of wholesomeness have been degraded as well.
As for remaking an original film...there's an excess of that going on in Hollywood today. Here's a list of movies off the top of my head that are all remakes: Gone in Sixty Seconds, The Fast and the Furious, the Bourne Identity, Cheaper by the Dozen, Yours, Mine and Ours, The Haunting, Alfie, The Truth About Charlie (taken from Audrey Hepburn and Carey Grant's Charade nonetheless!), The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe (btw the original BBC films of the Narnia Chronicles are no less than 95% accurate and practically verbatim to the books they only lacked in the technological advantages we now have, and still they do a good job there too). There are a lot of other films that have come out over the past few years that have all been remakes that I can't spout off the top of my head and it speaks volumes on the condition of originality in the movie industry. *sigh* We all have our things to be hypercritical and sensitive of, this just so happens to be one of mine. If I could I would put a stop to all the things about movie making these days that boil my blood, especially when movies are made from books!

I saw Nonpoint at Floyd's tonight. They were so awesome. It was an A-mazing show. I always love seeing those guys and their shows are always good, but tonight's show is the best one I've been to yet! I was really into it too. ^_^ Fun, fun, fun. The night also served as a reunion with some figures from the past, which was interesting and not bad, but taking it with a grain of salt. Things have changed. I have changed, my life has changed.
One of the highlights was geting to hear "Your Signs" live, which I'd been itching for ever since I got it into my mind that it applies to some people in my life. So, here's a dedication to a few people in my life whose signs aren't pointing the right way for me, or so it seems(prove me wrong, go ahead). Oh, and dig this, Elias totally has scripture on his page in the booklet for their new CD among other things that point in the direction of salvation. Hooray for salvation!

Nonpoint - Your Signs

Gotta make a list of what is best
Gotta make a fist and beat against
Have to leave an impression
Do you have a suggestion
I'm all out of good ideas
The ones you have always put into your ears
With all you care to share
How did I end up here

Your signs are pointing to nowhere
That's exaclty where I won't go
Your signs are pointing to nowhere
And no one that I know
That's all you care to show me
Care to show me

Gotta make a list of what is best
Gotta make a fist and beat against
Have to make this perfectly clear
I'm not waiting for one million years
For us in general
You make the chemical
Situation I put us in
Unfamiliar in foreign land

Your signs are pointing to nowhere
That's exactly where I won't go
Your signs are pointing to nowhere
And no one that I know
Well that's all you care to show me

How would you like me
Where would you like me to be
And could you make me worry
Just a little more
*The way you look at me confuses me
Even with you me next to me*

Your signs are pointing to nowhere
That's exactly where I won't go
Your signs are pointing to nowhere
And no one that I know
Well that's all you care to show me
(Care)
Your signs
(To)
Your signs
(Show me)
Your signs
Care to show me
Care to show me
I won't go

(asteriked line is especially meaningful.)

I played flag football for a few hours Friday. It was my first time and a lot of fun. Afterwards is a bit of a different story, but whatev. Today, however, I feel like my body from the waist down is covered in bruises and worse. Its interesting even if it is painful. lol. I said I wish I could do things like play flag football more often and this doesn't change my mind. In fact, it convicts me of it a little more because if it was a regular activity in my life I would not be so sore and I'd be more fit. haha. Fit. Check out The Streets and the song "Fit but you know it". Its lovely how different countries and cultures have different idiomatic expressions, uses for words and meanings for words.

I read this morning and really enjoyed it.

Isaiah 40 (New American Standard Bible)
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
Copyright © 1960, 1962, 1963, 1968, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1977, 1995 by The Lockman Foundation

Isaiah 40
The Greatness of God
1"(A)Comfort, O comfort My people," says your God.
2"(B)Speak kindly to Jerusalem;
And call out to her, that her (C)warfare has ended,
That her (D)iniquity has been removed,
That she has received of the LORD'S hand
(E)Double for all her sins."
3(F)A voice is calling,
"(G)Clear the way for the LORD in the wilderness;
Make smooth in the desert a highway for our God.
4"Let every valley be lifted up,
And every mountain and hill be made low;
And let the rough ground become a plain,
And the rugged terrain a broad valley;
5Then the (H)glory of the LORD will be revealed,
And (I)all flesh will see it together;
For the (J)mouth of the LORD has spoken."
6A voice says, "Call out."
Then he answered, "What shall I call out?"
(K)All flesh is grass, and all its loveliness is like the flower of the field.
7The (L)grass withers, the flower fades,
When the (M)breath of the LORD blows upon it;
Surely the people are grass.
8The grass withers, the flower fades,
But (N)the word of our God stands forever.
9Get yourself up on a (O)high mountain,
O Zion, bearer of (P)good news,
Lift up your voice mightily,
O Jerusalem, bearer of good news;
Lift it up, do not fear
Say to the (Q)cities of Judah,
"(R)Here is your God!"
10Behold, the Lord GOD will come (S)with might,
With His (T)arm ruling for Him
Behold, His (U)reward is with Him
And His recompense before Him.
11Like a shepherd He will (V)tend His flock,
In His arm He will gather the lambs
And carry them in His bosom;
He will gently lead the nursing ewes.
12Who has (W)measured the waters in the hollow of His hand,
And marked off the heavens by the span,
And calculated the dust of the earth by the measure,
And weighed the mountains in a balance
And the hills in a pair of scales?
13(X)Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD,
Or as His (Y)counselor has informed Him?
14(Z)With whom did He consult and who (AA)gave Him understanding?
And who taught Him in the path of justice and taught Him knowledge
And informed Him of the way of understanding?
15Behold, the (AB)nations are like a drop from a bucket,
And are regarded as a speck of (AC)dust on the scales;
Behold, He lifts up the islands like fine dust.
16Even Lebanon is not enough to burn,
Nor its (AD)beasts enough for a burnt offering.
17(AE)All the nations are as nothing before Him,
They are regarded by Him as less than nothing and meaningless.
18(AF)To whom then will you liken God?
Or what likeness will you compare with Him?
19As for the (AG)idol, a craftsman casts it,
A goldsmith (AH)plates it with gold,
And a silversmith fashions chains of silver.
20He who is too impoverished for such an offering
Selects a (AI)tree that does not rot;
He seeks out for himself a skillful craftsman
To prepare an idol that (AJ)will not totter.
21(AK)Do you not know? Have you not heard?
Has it not been declared to you from the beginning?
Have you not understood (AL)from the foundations of the earth?
22It is He who [a]sits above the [b](AM)circle of the earth,
And its inhabitants are like (AN)grasshoppers,
Who (AO)stretches out the heavens like a (AP)curtain
And spreads them out like a (AQ)tent to dwell in.
23He it is who reduces (AR)rulers to nothing,
Who (AS)makes the judges of the earth meaningless.
24[c]Scarcely have they been planted,
Scarcely have they been sown,
Scarcely has their stock taken root in the earth,
But He merely blows on them, and they wither,
And the (AT)storm carries them away like stubble.
25"(AU)To whom then will you liken Me
That I would be his equal?" says the Holy One.
26(AV)Lift up your eyes on high
And see (AW)who has created these stars,
The (AX)One who leads forth their host by number,
He calls them all by name;
Because of the (AY)greatness of His might and the strength of His power,
(AZ)Not one of them is missing.
27(BA)Why do you say, O Jacob, and assert, O Israel,
"My way is (BB)hidden from the LORD,
And the (BC)justice due me escapes the notice of (BD)my God"?
28(BE)Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The (BF)Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth
Does not become weary or tired
His understanding is (BG)inscrutable.
29He gives strength to the (BH)weary,
And to him who lacks might He (BI)increases power.
30Though (BJ)youths grow weary and tired,
And vigorous (BK)young men stumble badly,
31Yet those who wait for the LORD
Will (BL)gain new strength;
They will (BM)mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.

Ecclesiastes 9:11,12
I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all. 12Moreover, no man knows when his hour will come: As fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so men are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them.

Ecclesiastes 8:6-8
For there is a proper time and procedure for ever matter, though a man's misery weights heavily upon him. 7Since no man knows the future, who can tell him what is to come? 8No man has power over the wind to contain it; so no one has power over the day of his death. As no one is discharged in time of war, so wickedness will not release those who practice it.

Anywho, the following lyrics are his.

If Heaven was an hour, it would be twilight,
When the fireflies start their dancin' on the lawn;
An' supper's on the stove and Mamma's laughin',
And everybodys workin' day is done.

If Heaven was a town, it would be my town,
Oh, on a summer day in 1985.
An' everything I wanted was out there waitin',
And everyone I loved was still alive.

Don't cry a tear for me, now, baby;
There comes a time we all must say goodbye.
And if that's what Heaven's made of,
You know, I, I ain't afraid to die.

If Heaven was a pie, it'd be cherry,
So cool and sweet an' heavy on the tongue.
An' just one bite would satisfy your hunger,
An' there'd always be enough for everyone.

If Heaven was a train, it sure would be a fast one,
That could take this weary traveller around the bend.
If Heaven was a tear, it'd be my last one,
An' you'd be in my arms again.

Don't cry a tear for me, now, baby;
There comes a time we all must say goodbye.
And if that's what Heaven's made of,
You know, I, I ain't afraid to die.

Yeah, if that's what Heaven's made of,
You know, I, I ain't afraid to die.

    <lj:music>LeAnn Rimes - Probably Wouldn't Be This Way</lj:music>

Does anyone know what LeAnn Rimes' song "Probably Wouldn't Be This Way" is about specifically? If I remember correctly she got married a couple years ago, or at least moved in with her boyfriend at the time. Thanks to MTV Cribs for that. lol. But did something happen with her significant other and that's what the song is about? At some points in the song its like who she's talking about died and at others its like he's still alive and there's issues. *sigh* I don't know. Anyone clarification would be great. <3
